On August 26, this year's Fill the Van event was a huge success THANK YOU Gabriola community for your support. We where also able to introduce our newest member of our team "Phil the van". If you see Phil and driver on island driving around please honk or send us a wave.
This van has been fully funded by Food Bank BC so that People for a Healthy Community will be able to visit Nanaimo Loaves and Fishes to bring Gabriola more fresh produce and protein to our food program (Foodbank).
Thanks to the many islanders who stopped by to see PHC's new fully funded refrigerated van - "Phil-up". Over 600lbs of groceries and $950.00 was donated. Yippee!! - Brenda Fowler Executive Director
